SEMA SPRING EXPO AND SEMA OFFROAD RETURN TO INDIANAPOLIS FOR 2006
Regional trade-only events are co-located to provide additional business opportunities for manufacturers and buyers of specialty equipment

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Nov. 21, 2005) - SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, will deliver the SEMA Show experience to the doorstep of the specialty equipment industry in the Midwest by hosting SEMA Spring Expo and SEMA Offroad at Indianapolis for the second consecutive year.

Sponsored by the Light-Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA) and Professional Restylers Organization (PRO), the trade-only SEMA Spring Expo 2006 will be held at the Indianapolis Convention Center , March 24-25, 2006. With a special emphasis on trucks and SUVs, exhibitors will display a variety of products and services covering accessories, restyling, wheels and tires and mobile electronics.

“PRO, in conjunction with LTAA, has pulled out all the stops to put extra value into the show with our Demo Action Center , high-impact educational seminars and new round-table discussion,” said B. J. Leanse, North American sales manager at Big Country Truck Accessories and chairman of the PRO Council. Leanse added, “this is one opportunity professional installers will not want to miss.”

Todd Yeoman, president of American Technology and chairman of the LTAA, echoed Leanse's comments.

“The SEMA Spring Expo will present buyers, dealers and installers with an exciting education track, including seminars, roundtable discussions, training sessions and installation demonstrations,” said Yeoman. “Multiple opportunities to see the latest products, gain valuable information and network with industry peers makes this a must-attend show.”

Co-located with the SEMA Spring Expo is SEMA Offroad, which will showcase off-road industry segments, including rock crawling, sand sports and four-wheeling. In addition, the popular Off-Road Proving Ground will host exhibitor demonstrations of the latest off-road products.

“This is an extra opportunity for our members to showcase their products to potential buyers and generate more sales,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of marketing and communications. “It also provides an excellent business forum for those manufacturers and buyers who are normally unable to attend the SEMA Show in Las Vegas .”

He added that co-locating the two events gives buyers a unique opportunity to investigate cross marketing: “Hosting both events under one roof makes it easy for shop owners to look into new product lines, speak directly with manufacturers and perhaps expand their customer base.”

SEMA anticipates more than 200 exhibitors will participate in SEMA Spring Expo and SEMA Offroad in 2006, and like the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the event will include interactive vehicle experiences and educational seminars that are free of charge to registered attendees.

The first SEMA Spring Expo was held in Chicago in 2002, and in 2004, SEMA Offroad was co-located with this regional event to expand cross-marketing opportunities for buyers. The result was a 65-percent increase in buyer attendance.
